The competition brief called for a new office building to be planned as a reception building in addition to the main access building to the Lufthansa base.
The building and the base building are accessed from the newly created entrance area of the base. The basic configuration of the base building will have 609 office workplaces on the ground and upper floors.
The basic configuration provides for a mixture of individual, cellular, group offices and open office space in accordance with the "New Workspace".
The single-storey foyer on the ground floor can be accessed both from the new entrance plaza on the north side and from the side of the auditorium from the south.
Alternatively, the eastern part of the base of the building can be used as a meeting place with a two-storey lecture room (250 seats) as well as further seminar rooms and rooms for other uses in the western part of the ground floor.
